The ever - increasing dependence on computers in each field of our daily lives combined with the escalating demand of well-quipped personnel triggered off the need for establishment of Computer Science Department in Bangabasi College. Computer Science was introduced as an additional subject in the +2 level of West Bengal Higher Secondary Course in 1995 and in the very next year Computer Science Department was established. Initially, it offered the subject as a subsidiary one to students of Pure Science streams and then the Honours Course in Computer Science was introduced in the year 2003. In these years, the students have passed out with flying colours with a handful of students being awarded first class in each year. After graduating, the students either opt for post-graduation or get well placed in the industry.
