Students Support Cell

The College believes that a student is an integral part of the Institution and for his/her service, the administration, faculty and staff are employed. In this scenario, other than the normal teaching learning process, a variety of welfare schemes are made available to the students so that they make the best out of it and the three crucial years of life during which he/she stays in the college is without any hassles and hazards, so that it can be cherished with loving memories and nostalgia. Some of these facilities are enlisted below:

  1. Assistance regarding availing scholarships/stipends from various sources like State/Central Government and Private agencies.
  2. Assistance in getting hostel accommodation for the outstation students.
  3. Tuition fee concessions for the poor and meritorious students.
  4. Payment of University Examination fees from Aid fund & Alumni Association for the poor and meritorious students
  5. Assistance to avail Railway Concessions for to & fro journey to College
  6. Lending facility of books from Central/departmental libraries and Book Bank
  7. Cheap Canteen for healthy food at subsidized rate.
  8. Provision of safe and cold drinking water
  9. Well ventilated and clean toilets.
  10. Cheap Store for books and stationeries at lower than market price. It is proposed to extend reprographic facilities to the students.
  11. Provisions to avail medical facilities from the Student Health Home.
  12. A fully equipped gymnasium for staying fit.
  13. Indoor games facility in common rooms.
  14. Provisions for outdoor sports at the Bangabasi College Athletic Club in Kolkata Maidan.
  15. Educational trips at subsidized rates.
  16. Participation in best practice schemes through N.S.S like adult education, health camps, cleanliness drives, blood donation, and first-aid training etc. in order to make them aware of their social responsibilities.
  17. Encouragement and assistance to participate in intra and inter college sports/cultural competitions.
  18. Psycho-social, personal and academic counseling
  19. Career counseling, job oriented training programme, workshops to develop entrepreneurial skills and campus placements through the Placement Cell of the College.
  20. Students Safety Insurance Policy has been initiated including accidental benefits.
